Candidacy
As a candidate, you will experience our life as Religious of the Sacred Heart by living with us as a member of one of our communities in the United States. You will learn first hand the way we pray, live, and work together. You will also learn that our life in response to God's call is very human. We share our lives together, as any community of persons does, through trial and error, by speaking and listening, by loving and forgiving, by sharing the good and the difficult times with one another.
You will experience the Society more deeply by participating in various events around the province and by reading about our past and present.
After a period of time, usually one year, you will be invited to discern with your RSCJ community and with others who have accompanied you on your journey about your experience of living in community. We will ask you to reflect with us about whether your life among us has been happy, peaceful and healthy. If your answer is "yes," you may request to enter the next stage of your formation, the novitiate.
What else would you like to know about the process of becoming a Religious of the Sacred Heart? Please call or emial our director of vocations with your questions.
